GOD’S DIVINE PLAN FOR HIS DAUGHTERS

And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. – John 2:1-2

On Mother’s Day, I feel it is appropriate to set down the thoughts the Lord has given me about women and the cross. I instantly thought of a beautifully told narrative about a mother and her son; it is not your typical story; it is the story of the King, Messiah, and Lord and his mother. The fact that He was born of a woman—a woman gave birth to him and raised him to be Jesus—is frequently taken for granted.

In the very first verse of the second chapter of the book of John, the writer wants us to know that this was no ordinary day, that it was the third day. I will not go into detail about this number; suffice to remind ourselves that in describing the very makeup of the Godhead, God has used the number three, showing how significant a number it is… God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and God the Son, I would think that on the particular day heaven was standing to attention, on this auspicious day on the calendar of the Lord, Jesus’s mom was present.

Zechariah 4:9 springs to mind: “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands shall also finish it. Then you will know that the Lord of Hosts has sent me to you.” This serves as a powerful reminder of the divine purpose and guidance that accompanies significant moments in our lives. Just as Zerubbabel was chosen to lead the rebuilding of the temple, we too are called to fulfil our God-given destinies with faith and determination.

At the beginning, Maria, the mother, accepted God’s prophecy and endured the embarrassment of an unwed pregnancy. Maria maintained her faith in the face of social pressure and criticism, drawing strength from the divine mission that had been given to her. As she accepted her job with dignity and humility, her unshakable faith became an example to many. When the vision, or the whole picture, came together, it was proper and just to include her because she was there from the start. It really wouldn’t have been possible if she hadn’t believed what God had spoken, obeyed Him, endured the shame, and kept the promise. This position required a unique type of woman—one with unwavering faith and obedience to God.

Now we see that this woman goes even further when there was no more wine at the wedding. Jesus’s mother tells her son, or orders, in other words, her son to do something about this shameful situation. Jesus answers and says it is none of his concern and that his hour has not yet come. However, this woman of faith recognized that this was the perfect opportunity for her son to be revealed as the Savior; in other words, she activated Jesus’s ministry. From then on there was no turning back. She was apprised of the time of planting the seeds of the harvest also when the time came to reap.

As the miraculous events unfolded, she understood that her faith was the catalyst for the transformation that would impact countless lives. With each miracle, she witnessed not only her son’s divine purpose but also the unfolding of a greater plan that would change the world forever.

‘What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which He revealed his glory’- John 2:11

God would want woman to recognize the significant role we play; A mother’s love and direction have a significant impact on how her children develop in the future. By valuing our individual talents, we help create a society that is more caring and compassionate, which in turn helps the next generation develop resilience and growth. The function that mothers play in God’s kingdom is not limited to being mothers, housewives, or a husbands’ lover and supporter; rather, the Lord intended for us to comprehend the depth of the role.

To grasp this function, one must acknowledge the tremendous impact women have on forming their children’s morals and values as well as the principles that will guide them throughout their lives. It is a supernatural calling that sows hope, strengthens faith, and creates a legacy of love that transcends generations

Come out, O daughters of Zion, and gaze at King Solomon, wearing the crown his mother bestowed on the day of his wedding–the day of his heart’s rejoicing. come out, and look, you daughters of Zion. – Song of Solomon 3:11

It’s interesting that the verse number is the same, isn’t it? That am writing this article on the 11th of May… that coincidentally I’m utilizing font size 11 even as I write. God speaks to us in word and even with numbers… and number 11 is about transition. The Lord God says in Isaiah 11:11 that he would extend his hand to heal and restore the remnant a SECOND time. Take note of how God’s might transform the plain water into fresh wine.

Perhaps the daughters have been sitting at his feet, learning from this mothers son,  so that on the auspicious day of a new transition, a new outpouring of wine, we will be prepared to activate and guide the vision of God for our own children and those in our sphere of influence, so that God’s will can be carried out and that God can be exalted on earth as much as in heaven, so that our children and our children’s children can walk right before God, and so that the world will never be the same. We are eternally altered because of the woman who heeded God’s voice and opened a new path for us. Course of history was forever altered when we were TRANSITIONED from death to life and woke up one day to spend eternity with our Lord.

To all my lovely mothers out there, my sisters, the young and the old, and those who are doing this alone, keep in mind that you are not truly alone; the father of the fatherless and the husband of widows is always there and sensitive to your every cry; to the married and unmarried women, to the overwhelmed student who is filled with questions and fears about the future, and to all of us who have nearly fallen asleep, I say, “Arise and the Lord will shine on you!” I decree a time of transition is upon you, you are about to see why you had to go through what you went through, you are going to see the new thing God is doing. #ACTIVATE
